Power Rangers RPM, Get In Gear!
Wow, What a season Power Rangers RPM has been. It's been totally different from previous PR seasons. And that's a good thing. I always enjoy a little trend breaking now and then. Now, for those of you who've never seen RPM. It's a post-apocalyptic world. Where a sentient computer virus known as Venjix, Has pretty much destroyed humanity. {Terminator anyone?} And the last stragglers have to go to this protective domed city known as Cornith to survive. Who can protect Cornith from Venjix's forces?.........You guessed it, The Power Rangers. Scott, Summer, Dillon, Flynn, Ziggy, And Gem and Gemma. Including their allies, Doctor K, Colonel Truman, And everyone else. The rest of the Venjix villians include, Generals Shifter and Crunch, Tenaya 7, The Grinders, And Venjix's attack bots. The character development is great, the acting is great, Everything about RPM is great. Now, Every season of Power Rangers has had some horrible episodes. RPM is no exception to that rule. The bad episodes of RPM include, Ranger Yellow 1&2, Blitz, Three's A Crowd, The Dome Dolls and various others. But, The amount of good episodes outweigh the bad ones. RPM had some behind-the-scenes drama involving former Executive Producer Eddie Guzelian and the Disney execs. Eddie was going overbudget and he was missing his deadlines for script submissions. Eddie was fired after episode 18, And he was replaced by Judd Lynn. Judd worked on PR from MMPR-Time Force. As a Production Manager, Head Writer, And Co-Producer. So, Judd is someone who knows how PR works and knows the lay of the land. Eddie didn't. Which cost him his job. Eddie fired longtime PR writer Jackie Merchand. Bad move. Judd's half feels much more like true Power Rangers moreso then Eddie's did. Due to Judd's level of experience with the series. Also, RPM is the final season of Power Rangers. Disney is remastering MMPR to replace a adaptation of Samurai Sentai Shinkenger. RPM is a great way to end the series. And Judd was the right person to end PR IMO. The final four episodes air December 19th, If Venjix Won and End Game. The big finale airs December 26th, Danger and Destiny 1&2. After that Power Rangers as an ongoing series will be over. Sad isn't it. But PR needs a nice, long, rest. It's been 17 years. It needs a break. I'll be back tomorrow with a blog talking about Kamen Rider Dragon Knight. Peace!
